Overview

The Patient Care Services Staffing Coordinator provides daily support for staffing for the Patient Care Services Division in collaboration with the Patient Care Services Administrator on Call (PCS Administrator on Call) and Nursing Supervisors. Provides administrative support to the PCS Supervisors as directed.

Schedule: Wednesday-Thursday (7am- 7pm), Fridays (11am - 7pm, and every 3rd Friday is 7:00am - 3:00pm)

Responsibilities

1. Coordinates centralized assignment of professional and support staff for inpatient units, including off sites and Emergency Department. 2. Collates budgeted and staffing information from staffing/scheduling systems to determine staffing needs on a daily basis. Under the direction of the PCS Administrator On-Call and Supervisors, matches resources with needs and makes preliminary placement. Makes adjustments during the shift to move personnel from one unit to another in response to patient care needs. 3. Follows Policy and Procedures for proper staffing placements. 4. Floats and reassigns staff in staffing/scheduling system. 5. Participates in education/training of staffing/scheduling systems modules. 6. Provides support for the Patient Care Services Office during Disaster Drills and actual disasters as assigned. Maintains readiness of equipment/supplies. 7. Identifies and participates in selected learning experience related to personal growth and/or maximizing job performance. 8. Assists with the acquisition/delivery of various patient services when needed (i.e. car seats, nourishments). 9. Generates reports tables and graphs upon request. 10. Creates/maintains various data/information for Centralized PCS Staff (i.e. SUN Team/Float pool). 11. Monitors inventory of office supplies and orders as necessary for the PCS Office.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED 1. High school graduate required, and current Patient Care Assistant or Unit Coordinator preferred. 2. A minimum of two years administrative support experience, health care setting preferred. 3. Computer experience required: MS Word/Excel, PowerPoint, Web browser and Outlook. Previous experience with a staffing/scheduling system preferred. 4. Ability to handle and work through challenges while working independently. 5. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational, communication and time-management skills. Ability to establish and monitor priorities, maintain flexibility and meet deadlines. Will be able to work independently and handle multiple tasks in a professional manner. Is an effective relationship builder and energetic team player willing to contribute. And is results driven and can work successfully in a fast-paced environment.
