Description

The Network Technician at Centex Technologies plays a crucial role in ensuring the stability, performance, and security of our clients' networks. The primary objective of this position is to maintain and troubleshoot network infrastructure to ensure seamless connectivity and optimal functionality for our clients.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Install, configure, and maintain network hardware and software components.
  2. Perform routine network monitoring to ensure system availability and reliability.
  3. Troubleshoot network issues and implement effective solutions in a timely manner.
  4. Collaborate with the technical team to design and implement network upgrades and improvements.
  5. Maintain network security protocols and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  6. Provide technical support and assistance to clients regarding network-related inquiries and issues.


Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES (KSA)
  • Proficiency in network protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and VPNs.
  • Experience with network equipment such as routers, switches, firewalls, and access points.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of network security best practices.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field preferred.
  • Certification such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or CompTIA Network+ preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in network administration or a related field.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Ability to lift and carry network equipment and tools weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Extended periods of standing, bending, and kneeling may be required when installing or troubleshooting network equipment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Work is performed primarily in an office setting but may require occasional travel to client locations.
  • Exposure to various environmental conditions, including noise and temperature fluctuations, may occur when working in different client environments.
WORK STATUS, SCHEDULE, TRAVEL
  • Full-time position with occasional evening or weekend work required to perform maintenance or resolve network issues.
  • Travel to client sites within the Killeen, TX area may be necessary.
  • Travel for training and company events may be required.
