Position Overview:
The Leidos Defense Group is seeking a SECRET cleared Automation Technician to support critical operations. The selected individual will integrate into a multidisciplinary Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) team, focusing on the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) missile defense system.

Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will:

  • Assist in the daily operations and upkeep of THAAD Fire Control & Command systems, Launcher systems, and other specialized equipment, adhering to established protocols.
  • Engage in Field-Level tasks and execute all Sustainment-Below-Depot Level activities related to THAAD systems.
  • Operate with minimal supervision while cross-training within the team to enhance proficiency across various components of the THAAD support system.
  • Support the management and oversight of the maintenance and sustainment program, including scheduling services, configuration management, troubleshooting, and hardware/software installations.
  • Contribute to Root Cause Analysis and advanced troubleshooting for software, hardware, cabling, electrical systems, and networks.
  • Provide recommendations to customers and peers based on extensive experience.
  • Create and manage Work Orders, ensuring timely and accurate maintenance reporting.
  • Demonstrate expertise in interpreting electrical and mechanical schematics.
  • Handle and inspect electrostatic sensitive devices with care.
  • Collaborate with program partners to enhance the end-user's training initiatives, ensuring a highly skilled workforce.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with customers and partner agencies to build trust and confidence.
  • Exhibit discipline, adaptability, attention to detail, sound judgment, and initiative in all tasks.

Basic Qualifications:
To qualify for this position, candidates must possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree with 2-4 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combined education and experience.
  • A valid SECRET clearance.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within six months of hire.
  • CompTIA A+ Certification.
  • CompTIA Network+ or Security+ certification.
  • Compliance with physical deployment standards as outlined by relevant regulations.
  • A valid U.S. Passport with unrestricted travel.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows Operating Systems and the Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications:
Ideal candidates will also have:

  • A proven ability to quickly master new technical and training applications.
  • Experience and knowledge of US Army Air and Missile Defense operations.
  • Familiarity with US Army Supply and Logistics systems.
  • Understanding of US Army Physical Security standards and practices.

This position requires the candidate to successfully pass medical, dental, and psychological screenings to be deemed fit for deployment.
