POSITION PURPOSE / SUMMARY

Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa is a Christ-centered ministry, led by the Holy Spirit. The ministry began with a church located in Costa Mesa, CA and has flourished and expanded into a multifaceted ministry which includes Christian Schools, a Bible College, Christian Radio Stations, Christian radio programs, Christian book distribution, and Christian bookstores.

As a receptionist and engagement administrator, you will be the first point of contact for our church and organization. Therefore, it is essential that your demeanor, attitude and presence reflects the love of Jesus Christ.

RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES / FUNCTIONS / TASKS
  • Agree with and live out the vision and values of CCCM as outlined in the Statement of Faith (www.cccm.com).
  • Understand that it is a privilege to serve the Lord in vocational ministry and that those who serve God on staff at CCCM are expected to embrace a high biblical, Christ-like standard of conduct and lifestyle, both public and personal.
  • Be an example to those who you come in contact and serve with by exuding the love of Christ.
Reception
  • Greet and welcome guests as soon as they arrive at the church office
  • Direct visitors to the appropriate person and office
  • Answer, screen and forward incoming phone calls
  • Ensure reception area is tidy and presentable
  • Receive, sort and distribute daily mail/deliveries
  • Perform other clerical receptionist duties such as filing, photocopying, shredding and faxing
Engagement
  • Manage the volunteer pipeline which includes the application process, Live Scan requirements, and individual's history of service via CCCM's church management software, Planning Center
  • Support the Director of Engagement to train campus ministries with resources for recruitment, training, and management of volunteers
  • Maintains visibility into church-wide volunteer database. Develop and oversee volunteer-based connection team
  • Assist with engagement opportunities such as Newcomers Lunch, Baby Dedications, Baptisms, etc
REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS
  • Familiar with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Type at least 30+WPM
  • Hands-on experience with office equipment (e.g. fax machines and printers)
  • Professional attitude and appearance
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
  • Able to get along with different personalities within the office
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Customer service attitude
