Imperia Engineering Partners is a wholly owned subsidiary of United Engineers & Constructors, who provides engineering services across the entire asset lifecycle, to include feasibility analysis, conceptual engineering, basic engineering, detailed engineering, procurement, construction management, commissioning, operations & management, facilities modification & repurposing, and decommissioning.

Job Description:

The Electrical CAD Drafter candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience supporting multiple small to mid-size projects in the utilities/ energy / facilities industries, be proficient in Bentley Microstation, capable to produce, revise and file various project drawings using current technology and configuration management tools.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Performs CAD drafting of electrical schematics, loop drawings, wiring diagrams, panel layout drawings, mechanical and electrical equipment cut-out and assembly drawings, and general equipment arrangement or facility plans and fit outs, under the direction of Engineer/Project Manager
  • Produces drawings from engineering sketches, updates revisions, creates and/or updates the database links within the drawings, and maintains the project drawing folder
  • Tasks submitted are complete and comply with applicable specifications, customer standards, applicable codes, etc.
  • Performs self-check on their own drawings prior to submittal to Engineer/Project Manager for review
Qualifications and Skills:
  • CAD Drafter over 2 years of experience in producing CAD drawings in accordance with company and client requirements
  • Proficient in Bentley Microstation Required
  • Ability to effectively work individually and in team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, be flexible and adapt to an ever-changing work environment
  • Individual must have a strong work ethic; consistently demonstrates professional demeanor, appearance, and attitude
  • Resourceful with strong problem-solving ability
  • Candidate must have strong verbal and written communication skills (willing to ask questions when further clarification or direction is needed)
  • A strong drive to deliver against schedule, budget and quality commitments
  • Working knowledge of applicable industry codes/practices for design, construction and safety
  • Ability to respond and interact with Client and Constructor Contractors with RFIs
