Job Description

Job purpose

To safely and effectively support the Quality Assurance group by facilitating the root cause investigation and corrective action implementation for various quality issues.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Interface with sales companies and dealer network to quickly identify and communicate field issues to their respective manufacturing and R D contacts.
  • Analyze warranty data to detect trends and changing points.
  • Review returned warranty parts to determine failure mode, possibly including disassembly and inspection of those parts.
  • Work collaboratively with Manufacturing and Manufacturing Engineering during new product introduction to prevent quality issues via APQP tools; such as PFMEA, Control Plans and Measurement System Analysis.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to develop error-proof processes that build-in-quality.
  • Initiate and assist with containment activities internally and externally to establish product clean point and ensuring shipment of certified product to customers.
  • Lead the review of risks associated with product defects that are discovered to determine appropriate action for suspected units in the market.
  • Draft bulletins for improvement or corrections to field units (technical bulletins)
  • Work with related departments to propose and execute corrective actions for market warranty claims.
  • Host problem solving sessions with other departments to determine root cause and corrective actions for quality issues.
  • Provide technical guidance and direction to quality control team, manufacturing, and other departments as required.
Essential Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or previous experience in a Quality Engineering role
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Strong Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) skills
  • Strong communications skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • English language competency and legible writing ability
  • Demonstrated self-starter with the ability to work with little, to no, oversight
  • Ability to travel as needed, including overseas travel
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Experience in design engineering or production/manufacturing engineering/agricultural mechanization
  • Previous manufacturing experience
  • Experience with problem solving tools; such as 5-why, Ishikawa/fishbone diagrams, 8D
  • Six Sigma experience
  • APQP experience
  • Previous knowledge of tractors or other heavy machinery
