We're searching for a Human Resources Generalist to join our team. This position is responsible for supporting the Firm's core HR functions including employment, benefits, workers compensation, HRIS management, performance management, and employee relations. Responsibilities include communication with employees, managing employee paperwork and files, and creating processes to improve the Human Resources department.

What you will do in this role:
  • Work to support all human resources related topics and activities including employment practices, compliance, performance management, employee relations, training, workplace issues, and employee engagement.
  • Proactively research, develop, revise, and recommend HR best practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Assist with the evaluation process for both annual and mid-year reviews, which includes creating and updating evaluation forms and setting up the semi-annual processes, communicating to employees, running and preparing reports, and all other evaluation materials.
  • Support the onboarding process for new employees, including consistent, transparent communication between new hire, hiring leader, talent acquisition, and all stakeholders to ensure all parties are aware of their responsibilities and deadlines throughout the onboarding process. Works with candidates serving as a guide for background checks, new hire paperwork and onboarding items, ensuring legal and Firm compliance as well as completion in a timely manner.
  • Aid in the enrollment of all benefit programs including, but not limited to medical, dental, vision, life, short-term disability, and long-term disability. Acts as a liaison between employees, broker, and providers to resolve general benefit questions, interpret benefit information and answer questions. Processes enrollments including new hires, open enrolment, and termination/COBRA.
  • Support the department with day-to-day activities including file maintenance, updates to database, tracking and distribution of evaluations, mentor assignments, and other human resources needs.
  • Respond to inquiries by providing accurate information based upon knowledge of the appropriate Firm policy language and intent and knowledge and compliance of the appropriate state and federal laws.
  • Maintain accurate information in the Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS). Able to query, audit, and compile reports from the database as needed.
  • Make recommendations for process improvements to continuously improve overall efficiency and customer service. Participates in the development of department goals, objectives, and processes.
  • Assist in the development and coordination of the Firm's Wellness Program.
What you'll bring to the table:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in human resources or related field with a full understanding of HR functions and best practices.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment law.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks positively and proactively under tight deadlines and thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to perform duties accurately and efficiently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to utilize discretion with confidential information.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, including the ability to write reports, policies and procedures and business correspondence as well as effectively present information and respond to questions from internal clients.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Highly computer literate with capability in email, MS Office and related business and communication tools including HRIS.
