Purpose: Modifications and maintenance of equipment according to manuals and safety regulations. Maintenance of Facility, equipment, machinery including preventive maintenance.

Essential functions and responsibilities

Maintain and repair production and facility equipment to ensure work may be performed in both production and office environments

-Repairing, replacing and maintaining all Equipment

-Cleaning and lubricating machinery, performing basic diagnostic tests, checking performance, and testing damaged machine parts

To determine if major repairs are necessary, In carrying out these tasks, Maintenance workers must follow machine specifications

And adhere to maintenance schedules.

-Preventive maintenance and installation of new equipment

-Perform multi-craft tasks associated with in-plant or facilities maintenance

-Read and interpret standard prints, drawing, and schematics used in building, electrical, electronics, mechanical, metal working Trades

-Identify the tools, equipment, skills used in industrial plumbing, pipefitting, and HVAC.

-Manage preventative maintenance and equipment down time situations according to established procedures.

-Explain and apply the principles of fluid power and hydraulic systems and the associated equipment operations and maintenance Skills.

-Install and test electrical wires, circuits, and equipment using the correct equipment, materials, and procedures for safe operation

-Learn the concepts of welding fundamentals, gas. Arc, welding practices, and proper use of equipment

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Minimum GED or High school, technical school or Trade experience preferred.

Work environment

All work is performed in a cold plant environment with areas of high noise levels, wet floors, Seasonal schedule changes and

Dangerous chemicals depending on position

Preferred Skills

Experience in a Food Plant/Environment preferred, knowledge and general mechanical ability, basic electricity

Hydraulics, pneumatics, HVAC and industrial ammonia refrigeration systems, Steam power plant utilizing High Pressure Boilers

Wastewater pre-treatment processes and procedures, LOTO and OSHA Guidelines, basic computer skills

The employee works in a causal office environment located at a manufacturing facility. When the employee is within the plant, personal protective equipment is required to be worn. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Protective Equipment: When in the plant, employees must wear personal protective equipment, as required, which may include an assigned work uniform, hair and beard net, safety glasses, designated shoes and ear protection.
