Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled HVAC Technician to join our team at Haverhill Public Schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning support to our school district.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on HVAC systems and equipment to ensure optimal functioning.
  • Diagnose and repair malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools.
  • Monitor and document preventive maintenance activities and equipment performance.
  • Maintain inventory of equipment and supplies.
  • Stay up-to-date with current practices and procedures in plant and equipment maintenance.
  • Comply with safety regulations and adhere to all safety guidelines.
  • Interact respectfully with colleagues, staff, and external contacts to offer ideas, identify issues, and deliver services.
Requirements
  • Vocational or technical training in HVAC is required.
  • Massachusetts Journeyman's Refrigeration Technician License is required.
  • Massachusetts Journeyperson Sheet Metal License is preferred.
  • Massachusetts Class D Driver's License is required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of continuous experience in plant maintenance, building construction, and heating/ventilating installation repair and maintenance.
  • Experience with technology is required.
Working Conditions

The job is physical in nature and requires standing and/or moving around for the majority of the shift. The employee must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergencies during off-shift hours if required.
