Santa Clara, United States NVIDIA Full time

NVIDIA is the world leader in computer graphics, artificial intelligence, and accelerated computing solving the world’s most complicated problems in the field of HPC and Scientific Computing. Extending the power of HPC and AI from the data center to the edge can be transformative for the field of science and discovery. Be it particle accelerators, electron microscopes, or radars, high-fidelity sensors have resulted in an exponential increase in data which require supercomputing-like capabilities right next to the sensors streaming data.

NVIDIA® Holoscan is a domain-agnostic AI computing platform for building GPU-accelerated applications for computational instruments ranging from microscopes to telescopes to enable discoveries and insights in real-time. As an Applications Engineer, you will focus on accelerating the adoption of Holoscan across multiple domains and industries, working alongside product teams and leading pioneers in building AI-accelerated sensor processing applications. Do you enjoy developing real-time data processing applications, infusing them with AI and connecting them to an AI supercomputer? Do you find it rewarding being the computational and AI problem solver for the top scientists and researchers? If converting a small proof of concept into an inspiring solution for the larger community is exciting, we want to hear from you and be part of NVIDIA team.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Work directly with a customer or developer on porting or interfacing their application to Holoscan

  • Profile the application and run benchmarks to show the product’s value proposition

  • Build examples or sample applications for tutorials

  • Collaborate with domain experts on whitepapers and with marketing on blog posts

  • Participate and present in workshops

What we need to see:

  • 5+ years in building real-time sensor processing applications with a strong technical focus in a particular domain (scientific computing, instrumentation, test & measurement, defense)

  • A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or equivalent experience

  • Proficiency in Python and C/C++

  • Proven experience in building AI inferencing applications using PyTorch or Tensorflow

  • Familiarity with scientific computing tools like MATLAB, LabView, or SciPy

  • Spectacular written, verbal, and visual communication skills with an entrepreneurial spirit

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • Master’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or equivalent experience

  • Hands-on experience building GPU-based real-time applications including handling high bandwidth and low-latency I/O

  • Familiarity with Slurm or Kubernetes

  • Contributions to open-source software projects
