Tax Specialist

Responsibilities
  • Prepares assigned tax returns including but not limited to individuals, trusts, partnerships and private foundations
  • Prepares the tax files for individuals and trusts using scan software, autoflow data into tax return preparation software and review for accuracy.
  • Prepares income tax projections using all sources of information including general ledger, outside projections and tax estimates.
  • Communicates with others on a regular basis including but not limited to clients, the tax team, and other members from various departments.
  • Keeps up to date with tax knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; participating in professional organizations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or business-related field.
  • CPA license preferred or working towards certification required
  • 2+ years of experience working in public accounting with an emphasis on private client taxation including working with ultra-high net worth individuals preferred
  • Proficient in individual, fiduciary, private foundation and investment partnership taxation, with an understanding of complex investments and the related tax implications and/or estate, gift and generation skipping transfer taxation.
  • Familiar with multi-state taxation.
