Overview

In this vital role, you'll be tasked with installing, configuring, and troubleshooting an array of technologies including Windows Servers, desktops, laptops, and peripherals, along with a broader range of systems in our technology ecosystem. Based in Bessemer, AL, this primarily onsite position involves up to 25% travel to support our affiliate entities, offering a dynamic and varied work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide level 1 and 2 support for both local and remote employees, fostering a supportive IT environment.
  • Efficiently track and document issues and resolutions, utilizing our ticketing and documentation systems for future reference and continuous improvement.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot a variety of hardware, software, and applications, including Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe products, and specialized business applications.
  • Collaborate closely with team members to ensure seamless end-user support, contributing to team success.
  • Respond promptly to Service Desk tickets and alerts, prioritizing tasks to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Engage in special projects and initiatives that drive innovation and enhance our IT capabilities.

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree or higher in IT relevant discipline is preferred, with 1 to 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Availability for traditional business hours and flexibility to work weekends as needed.
  • Preferred certifications: Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, CompTIA+; opportunities available for certification sponsorship.
  • Ideal candidates are proactive, with a keen interest in technology and innovation within the energy sector.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in PC configuration and imaging (Windows 10,11), Office 365, and experience with ticketing systems and RMM tools.
  • Solid understanding of On-Premises Active Directory And/or Azure Active Directory.
  • Experience with network fundamentals such as TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Future project involvement may include IoT, cloud computing, and cybersecurity enhancements.

Soft Skills

  • Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to convey complex IT concepts in a clear manner.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on attention to detail and multitasking.
  • Autonomous work ethic, with the capacity to initiate and complete projects independently.

Physical Requirements

  • Comfortable with prolonged desk work and computer use.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and travel up to 25% for supporting remote sites.
  • Flexibility to respond to urgent network issues outside of normal hours.
