HealthRIGHT 360 has provided outpatient services for behavioral health disorders since 1985. The San Francisco Outpatient Program is specifically designed for people who struggle with substance use disorders, mental health issue/co-occurring disorders, and criminal justice involvement. The Outpatient Program works with high-risk populations from a variety of backgrounds providing trauma-informed care aimed at reducing the harmful impacts of substance use. Our programs are open and welcoming to adult participants of any gender identity. We accept the majority of participants who seek Outpatient treatment, including walk-in's, referrals from other agencies, and step-down transitional clients from residential treatment programs. Participants and their counselors work collaboratively to design an integrated, individualized, strengths-based treatment experience geared towards addressing each client's specific needs and goals.

The Clinical Therapist will work in a collaborative environment to connect clients to the level of treatment they need while managing a small caseload of individual clients or facilitating group treatments. Since many of our clients have backgrounds in the criminal justice system, are chronically homeless and/or otherwise economically disenfranchised, Clinical Therapist will show flexibility in being able to meet the changing needs of our programs, can tolerate working in a fast-paced variable working environment, and will assess our clients for harm to self and others, and will diagnose and treat such clients with co-occurring disorders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide mental health/level of care assessments and diagnoses for adults seeking residential services.
  • Consult regularly with the Director to ensure clients meet criteria for safe admission to appropriate level of residential care.
  • Provide crisis intervention and referrals to high-level care as necessary.
  • Go to San Francisco County Jail sites, as needed, to perform mental health/level of care assessments with inmates seeking residential treatment upon release.
  • Manage a small individual therapy caseload and facilitate group therapy treatment.
  • Provide thorough written documentation of all services provided in compliance with regulations, contracts, and behavioral health standards.
  • Persists in efforts to solve issues even when faced with internal barriers; takes personal responsibility for customer service outcomes.
Position Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or related field from an accredited graduate school.
  • Valid registration or licensure from the California Board of Behavioral Sciences as an AMFT, APCC, ASW, LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
  • Valid California Driver's License and access to registered and insured transportation.
  • Experience conducting mental health assessments and treating clients with co-occurring disorders.
  • Familiarity with Drug-Medical and ASAM Criteria.
  • Experience with mental health Medi-Cal procedures.
  • Familiarity with AVATAR.
  • Demonstrated clinical paperwork, timely record keeping abilities, and dual entry in EHR systems.
  • Bilingual preferred.
Background Check and Other Requirements:
  • Capable of obtaining and maintaining a satisfactory background check. Applicants must not be on parole or probation due to funding regulations. Qualified candidates with a criminal record will be considered for employment.
  • Capable of meeting health screening and tuberculosis testing requirements.
  • Capable of meeting program requirements.
  • Capable of meeting credential requirements.
