Structures Technician - Dayton, OH

Job Description: Structural Technicians will use skills and expertise to perform Depot level aircraft structural inspections, repairs, and modification activities. Technicians will assemble and/or create major assembly structures and minor part-fitting operations in support of Depot level maintenance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform inspections, fabricate, assemble, install, and repair aircraft sheet metal structures and components.
  • Restore or repair defects using unique aircraft fastening hardware, ferrous and non-ferrous materials; I Perform structural modification.
  • Manufacture and install aircraft structural components.
  • Conduct corrosion control inspections, repair, and treat the materials.
  • Document discrepancies and raise task cards in accordance with company policies & Procedures and Customer's Manuals as required.
  • Determine the proper corrective actions required to rectify discrepancies.
  • Document maintenance actions in accordance with company policies & Procedures and customers manuals as required.
  • Complete a variety of forms, tags, and documents in accordance with company policies & Procedures and Customer's Manuals as required.
  • Identify parts required and raise purchase Requests.
  • Work in close coordination with the Project and Trade Supervisors to ensure that the work is performed within the scheduled time frame.
  • Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with company quality standards, policies & procedures, and Regulatory Authority requirements (TC, FAA] etc.).
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 5 or more years aerospace structures/sheet metal experience.
  • Ability to understand and interpret applicable technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals and/or publications.
  • Ability to complete installations per technical drawings while maintaining edge distance and pitch.
  • Experience with structure assembly, minor part fitting techniques and repair and refinishing such as airframe corrosion removal, as applicable.
  • Ability to install various fasteners such as rivets and hi-locks.
  • Experience using tooling and fixtures for depot level modification and repair of structural parts.
  • A&P Certification.
  • Ability to speak, read and write in English.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance with program access is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • U.S. Air Force or other DoD aerospace manufacturing and maintenance experience.
  • Ability to travel on a regular basis and/or work different shifts including overtime and weekends.
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense, or US Military
  • Modification and MRO experience
  • FAA repair station and/or Quality Assurance experience
  • Experience on wide body aircraft, including but not limited to, Boeing 767, 777, and 747
  • Proficient in basic computer operation
