Required Skills:

Senior Product Designer Responsibilities:

  1. Design and prototype front-end user interfaces that are simple and elegant for Facebook's platforms, products, or applications.

  2. Take broad, conceptual product ideas and translate them into functional, scalable designs to be used for front-end application development.

  3. Create wireframes and mockups for User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) products.

  4. Utilize a full range of design, human-computer interaction, and visual design skills to seek out creative solutions to complex product issues.

  5. Partner with engineering teams to ensure the compatibility of front-end design components with the technical specifications of a given product.

  6. Partner with product managers, engineers, researchers, and content strategists to oversee the development of the user experience and user interface assets of a product from conception until launch.

  7. Ensure design assets for frontend product design are compatible with Facebook's brand.

  8. Develop innovative user interfaces and user-facing products that offer new app functions and features and improve existing app functions and features.

  9. Provide additional post-launch design support to maximize continued product efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Design and Technology, or a related field and 60 months of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in job offered or related occupation. Foreign degree equivalent accepted. Position also requires:

    1. Building and shipping applications or software at the level of whole features across a variety of platforms
    1. Interaction design, including defining how an experience should behave based on understanding people's needs
    1. Prototyping
    1. Visual design, typography, desktop/mobile UI, color or layout, iconography
    1. Creating user flow and mockups to articulate design concepts
    1. Defining product specifications and user experiences
    1. Understanding and interpreting user research and usability testing
    1. Conducting end to end design process across multiple projects including interaction and visual design artifacts and high-fidelity prototypes
    1. Building and shipping applications or software at company-level scale
    1. Leading end to end design process across multiple projects including interaction and visual design artifacts, multiple iterations, and high-fidelity prototypes
    1. Developing product goals, identifying opportunities in a global market, and making strategic design decisions based on impact to the company and,
    1. Partnering with cross-functional partners to drive product strategy with a user-centric approach leveraging design thinking methodologies and best practices.

$189,576/year to $223,850/year + bonus + equity + benefits
