Job Overview:

The Public Areas Attendant/Houseperson is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the hotel. This person must have exceptional communication skills as well as superior guest service abilities. This position is fast paced with constant customer interaction and must be able to push and pull a moderate weight. This position is also responsible for servicing guest requests.

This position will work 3 days in a Public Area role and 2 days as a Houseperson as needed.

Pubic Area Attendant shift will be 2:00pm-10:30pm; Houseperson 8:30am-5:00pm; Sunday 9:30am-6:00pm.

Wage Information:

The salary range for this position is $20.29 to $24.70. The starting hourly rate is $20.29. Decisions regarding individual salaries will be based on a number of factors, including experience, qualifications and education.

Shift premium is offered for shifts starting at 2:00pm.

Public Area Attendant:

· Acknowledges and greets guests in public spaces with a warm, friendly greeting

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure, while remaining flexible and efficient.

  • Cleaning of common/public areas; Cleans assigned washrooms, to specified standards using prescribed procedures, including but not limited to wiping, dusting, sweeping, mopping, polishing, scrubbing, shampooing, other and straightening

  • Restocking and removing towels in the gym/pool areas

  • Picks up ground litter around hotel or whatever visible

  • Assists the housekeeping department as needed with cleaning, laundry, and supplies

  • Ensuring that the facility remains clean at all times to include back of house areas

  • Responding to customers' queries, concerns, and complaints.

  • Responds and delivers to quest requests

  • Promptly turns in lost articles to management for entry into Lost and Found.

  • Perform any other related duty as required.

Houseperson:

· Collects soiled linen for laundering from housekeeping carts.

· Receives linen supplies from laundry and stocks linen closets on guest floors in a neat organized manner.

· Maintains housekeeping carts and stocks supplies daily

· Strips soiled linen from beds and removes from guest room

· Removes trash collected by room attendants.

· Transports clean linen to the housekeeping storage rooms on the floors and refills the par stock of linen on each floor

· Refills the par stock of guest amenities and supplies on each housekeeping storage area.

· Helps the room attendants with heavy lifting and special cleaning projects as directed.

· Cleans all public areas in the prescribed manner while following department standard operating procedures.

· Removes soiled linen and trash from the laundry shoot, guest hallways, pool side and other service areas and takes to appropriate locations in the prescribed manner.

· Reports missing / found articles, damage or merchandise problems to the housekeeping supervisor and managers.

· Handles any tasks assigned by the supervisors as and when needed.
