Responsibilities:

  • Assisting surgeons and other medical professionals during surgical procedures in the outpatient surgical center.
  • Preparing operating rooms by ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are sterile and readily available.
  • Positioning and draping patients appropriately for surgical procedures.
  • Passing instruments and supplies to surgeons during procedures.
  • Maintaining a sterile field throughout surgical procedures to prevent infections.
  • Anticipating the needs of the surgical team and proactively providing assistance.
  • Assisting with patient transport to and from the operating room.
  • Participating in post-operative cleanup and sterilization of equipment and operating rooms.
  • Adhering to all safety protocols and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Collaborating with other members of the healthcare team to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
  • Documenting patient information and surgical procedures accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Remaining current on best practices and advancements in surgical technology and techniques.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a Certified Surgical Technician
  • At least 2 years of Orthopedic Experience Preferred
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Knowledge of surgical instruments and specialized equipment, required.
  • Successful completion from a nationally accredited educational program for surgical technologist, holds and maintains a certified surgical technologist (CST)
  • Must be and remain in good standing with NYS regulations, required. Prior experience as an Operating Room Technician required.Top of Form
