Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Services Specialist to join our team at One Health Family Medicine. As a Patient Services Specialist, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service while executing all front office administrative duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Exemplify caring and compassionate customer service to create an excellent patient experience
  • Provide exemplary interpersonal skills and ability to interact with patients and families in a wide variety of sensitive situations
  • Demonstrate critical thinking skills and decisive judgment in an often-hectic environment and possess the ability to work cohesively on a team and independently with minimal supervision
  • Manage patient registration, insurance verification, scheduling, collection and cash receipting, arrival and/or departure desk activities according to standards and guidelines ensuring accuracy and an outstanding patient experience
  • Encourage patient utilization of front-end technology during the registration process
  • Enter and maintain confidential and accurate patient information including patient insurance, billing, and payment information throughout patient encounter
  • Assist billing functions accurately and/or direct to appropriate billing office
  • Demonstrate proficiency of emergency codes and appropriate responses as well as applicable federal and state healthcare regulations
  • Monitor inventory and stock medications, narcotics, and emergency medications/equipment

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Computer experience required
  • Customer relations experience required
  • Experience with Medical Records Software preferred, Front desk practice experience preferred

Working Environment:

This role requires sitting for long periods of time and working in a fast-paced office environment. Ability to bend and lift up to 10 lbs is also required.

Certifications:

This role requires adherence to principles of growth and development, demonstrating skills and competency appropriate to the ages, culture, developmental stages, and special needs of the patient population served.
