Job Title: Core Room Operator

Department: Core

Reports To: Supervisor

Shift: Second Shift 2:30pm - 1:00am

Job Summary: Bingham & Taylor is seeking a skilled Core Room Operator to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining core making equipment, ensuring the production of high-quality sand cores used in the casting process. All duties will be performed within safety, quality, and production standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Mix and measure compounds or weigh premixed compounds; then dump them into machine.
  • Pour or load sand into hoppers, using scoops.
  • Observe continuous operation of automatic machines to ensure that products meet specifications and to detect malfunctions, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Observe meters and gauges to verify temperatures, pressures, and press-cycle times.
  • Preheat tools using blowtorches or other equipment.
  • Remove finished products from molds using hand tools.
  • Shape molds to specified contours, using sand, and trowels and related tools.
  • Operate hoists to move items.
Qualifications:
  • Must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior manufacturing, warehousing or industrial experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated stable work history preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and safety.
