We're looking for a Social Media Marketing Intern to help us grow our online presence and engage with our community. In this role, you'll be hands-on in managing our Instagram account, crafting visually captivating content, and highlighting the unique vibe and offerings of our café. From snapping latte art to showcasing our specialty drinks, you’ll gain valuable experience in social media marketing. 

We’re looking for someone who 

  • Possesses a keen eye for design, transforming coffee into visually appealing content 
  • Understands the strategic use of hashtags and their role in enhancing visibility and engagement. 
  • Demonstrates strong organizational skills, managing content calendars to ensure smooth operations. 
  • Is comfortable and confident leading, collaborating and communicating new ideas. 
  • Is a self-starter who loves taking initiative. 
  • Has a serious case of GSD (Get Stuff Done).

Job Responsibilities 

  • Collaborate with the Daydreamer team to create engaging social media content that reflects the café’s atmosphere, products, and community. 
  • Develop and maintain monthly content calendars to ensure a consistent posting schedule across Instagram and other platforms. 
  • Capture high-quality photos and videos of café activities, menu items, and the overall aesthetic of Daydreamer to enhance our social media presence. 
  • Engage with our online community by responding to comments and messages while fostering a positive brand image. 
  • Track and report on social media performance metrics to help shape future content strategies. 
  • Stay up-to-date with social media trends and emerging content formats to keep our brand fresh and relevant. 

Requirements

Qualifications 

  • Current college student in pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Marketing, Communications, Photography, Journalism or related fields of study 
  • Skilled iPhone photographer and video editor; Experience with CapCut or other video editing apps 
  • Experience with Canva; graphic design skills a plus 
  • Strong grasp of major social media platforms including Instagram and TikTok 
  • Fluent in the English language, its rules and proper usage 

Skills 

  • Energetic self-starter who can work well in a small team and independently 
  • Web savvy, skilled internet researcher 
  • Excellent organizational/time management skills and ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines 
  • Prioritizes work and asks for direction when overwhelmed or uncertain 

Bonus Points if… 

  • Passion for coffee and café culture 
  • Proficient with Later, Planoly or other social media scheduling tools 
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, especially Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop and Illustrator  
  • Experience running social media for a nonprofit or business preferable but not required

This paid internship will run from October 2024 to December 2024, with the possibility of extending into the spring. The internship is approximately 15-20 hours per week, with a pay rate of $15 per hour.
