Quality Inspector- Pipeline Welding

Established Utility Scale construction company is seeking a Quality Inspector for the construction of a Large Scale solar battery storage facility outside of Bakersfield, CA (Maricopa, CA). They will require the expertise of a experienced Pipeline Welding Inspector. Pay ranges from $55-58/hr This is a 6-7 month project. Description: • Document quality observations associated with the construction work and ensure workmanship standards are being applied to the work in process. • Reporting and documenting quality concerns and potential hazards at the construction site with the goal of taking actions to reduce those risk issues. • Incident Response and Learning: Lead incident response efforts. Conduct thorough investigations (e.g., 5WHY, RCA) delving into system and cultural causes. • Data-Driven Reporting: Take the lead in documenting critical quality inspections and track and enforce action close-outs. • Reports to the QHSE Sr Manager- Construction Projects for any quality-related issues throughout the phase of the project. Consults concerning prevention and appraisal resources and the effectiveness of the Project Quality Plan / Procedures necessary to achieve product quality. • Ensures all construction / subcontractor Personnel are aware of project requirements. • Provides interpretation of applicable code specifications and customer requirements; any deviation, clarification, and waivers are to be documented through the RFI. • Exercise an initiative-taking approach to the prevention of a problem by interfacing with Production, Engineers, and Management Personnel. Skills: • Minimum of 5 years in Quality roles within Oil & Gas industry, preferably in a construction projects • Certified welding inspector (CWI) certificate (preferred, not required). • Familiar with international Code & Standards Excellent communication skills. • Proficient with computers and Microsoft programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook. • Expertise with the implementation of Quality Plans and test plans. • A history of success designing & executing safety processes (from identification to action close-out) across organizations and projects. • Ability to participate or lead investigations aimed at improving quality issues for the construction site. • Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization. • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to address quality challenges creatively and proactively. • This role requires full time work at a specific California-based construction site.
