    • The Regional Medical Director of the Minnesota Region serves Aspirus St. Luke's (ASL) and Aspirus Lake View (ALV). The Regional Medical Director reports directly to the System Senior Physician Executive of Tertiary Care and dotted line to the President of the Minnesota Region. The incumbent also has a dyad with the Hospital Chief Nursing Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Vice President(s) of Operations and Regional VP of Medical Group.

      This role will have the primary responsibility of helping develop and operationalize the Aspirus Medical Group in the tertiary care setting. By assisting in the design and implementation of the care delivery model, within the individual's areas of accountability, this physician leader will leverage the core values of Aspirus in order to achieve success. The incumbent will develop credible relationships of trust with the independent and employed physicians as well as advance practice professionals (APCs).

      This position will have overall leadership responsibility for the physicians and APCs within the area of accountability.
  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
    • Education: Medical degree.
    • Experience: Five (5) years' experience with both inpatient and outpatient clinical practice. Held formal leadership position in hospital medical staff structure or administration.
    • Licensure/Certification/Registration: Medical license to practice in the State of Minnesota. Maintains Board certification.

  • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
    • Knowledge of current trends in Ambulatory Care management; knowledge of principles and methods of administration, leadership and management; demonstrated skill in verbal and written communications; knowledge of generally accepted personnel practices; current legal parameters of Ambulatory Care practice; knowledge of budgeting and financial accountability; ability to plan and organize appropriate activities of Ambulatory Care, evaluate outcomes and assure quality through implementation of identified changes needed; ability to facilitate groups specified goals; ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with appropriate Hospital, Ambulatory Care and medical staff.
    • Ability to work independently, organize and manage multiple tasks/priorities and meet deadlines. Knowledge of Ambulatory Care scheduling, registration, reimbursement, billing and documentation. Proficiency with PCs, Windows, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project). Excellent verbal and written communication skills, teaching ability and problem solving skills. Professionally motivated. This position requires occasional travel, which may include overnights and weekends sufficient to handle the responsibilities of the position.
    • READING - Advanced: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquires or complaints.
    • WRITING Advanced: Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
