PURPOSE

Ascends Brokerage /Dispatch position is responsible for 3PL services for a dedicated customer as well as assisting in the managing a fleet of company drivers. Goals are to meet or exceed all required metrics, maximize revenue, and minimize costs, and meet or exceed the customer's service needs.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Deliver and prioritize high-quality customer experiences in the transport of goods, that support profitable and sustainable growth.
  • The Freight Broker is to effectively move customers freight via 3PL carriers, while managing profit margins of each shipment.
  • The Freight Broker will utilize available resources to ensure each shipment is tracked and traced from pick-up to delivery and communicated to the customer in a timely fashion.
  • Ability to track and provide updates on orders on weekends (1-2 hours per day).
  • Direct contact with carrier dispatch and drivers.
  • Create, update and close out all entries and paperwork in the transportation management system. (TMW)
  • Work with operational personnel and dispatch company drivers.
  • Act as a liaison between the driver and all other parts of operations.
  • Anticipate and facilitate problem resolution on all load issues to meet or exceed total satisfaction of customers.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with, Customers, Operations Personnel, Drivers, and Management of all levels.
  • Understand DOT HOS rules and regulations.

Qualifications
  • Previous experience in or knowledge of the transportation industry required.
  • 2+ years of experience in freight brokerage. (Flatbed preferred).
  • Working with direct driver contact operations.

Education, Certificatons, & License REquirements
