Eligible for a 4,000$ sign on bonus.

JOB SUMMARY:

Under the general direction of the Director of Behavioral Health Residential Programs, the Clinical Program Manager cultivates a therapeutic milieu through a trauma-informed, harm reduction lens. The Clinical Program Manager ensures adequate staffing for continuous individual and group supervision for all clients in their care at all times. The Clinical Program Manager supervises the Care Coordinator, Life Skill Instructors, and Therapists and plans for client activities and needs as well as staff development needs within the budgeted allocations. The Clinical Program Manager carries out all job responsibilities with fidelity and accountability to the Agency's Mission, Vision, Values, Guiding Principles and Strategic Plan.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Exercises full compliance with the Agency's Code of Conduct, all Agency policies and procedures and Federal and State laws and regulations.
  • Reads and becomes familiar with OASAS regulations and agency policy/procedure.
  • Maintains confidentiality and security for all client and staff related materials and/or records.
  • Facilitates daily programming to promote each individual youth's recovery needs.
  • Directs and participates in the cleanliness and upkeep of the residence, reports needed repairs to the Facility Operations.
  • Supervises medication in accordance with agency policy and procedure, reports medical problems and follows medical directives.
  • Provides a safe environment for youth and staff utilizing the Sanctuary Model
  • Shares on-call responsibilities as part of the on-call system.
  • Employs approved TCI crisis intervention/prevention techniques utilizing accepted practices per Agency policy.
  • Monitor bed utilization and occupancy and with Director's assistance monitor admission rates and retention of clients.
  • Leads and participates in recreation and leisure time activities
  • Transports clients to community resources
  • Demonstrates, promotes and practices diversity, equity and inclusion in relation to clients and staff through respect and understanding achieved through training, individual supervision and Agency cultural activities.
  • Develops relationships with each client conducive to promoting healthy growth and development.
  • Coordinates and approves staff schedules, time cards and time off requests all in accordance with OASAS regulations.
  • Supervises Life Skills Instructor to maintain for each client the daily log and charts meals served (for breakfast/lunch program)
  • Supervises clinical staff and other duties as needed.
  • Implements treatment methods and directives with each individual client
  • Participates in department treatment team meetings weekly and administrative and community meetings.
  • Reviews and signs off on all treatment plans, treatment plan reviews and case conferences presented at treatment team meetings.
  • Reviews and approves all admissions into the LIFE Program and conducts the admission with client and family on the day of admission
  • On call rotation
POSITION SPECIFICS:

Education: Professional license (LMSW, LCSW, LMHC) required.

Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of clinical experience in a behavioral health field. A minimum of one year of supervisory experience in a behavioral health setting.

Skills: Ability to take a leadership role with Life Skills Instructors and clinical staff. Ability to engage youth and families individually and in groups. Strong organizational skills. Staff development and team-building skills. Creative problem solving. Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.

Other: Valid NYS driver's license required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The following lists physical demands an employee will perform on a regular basis: standing, walking, sitting, bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling and climbing; Must be able to perform a variety of household tasks, climb stairs, move throughout the cottage or group home, work cooperatively in a team environment and quickly respond to emergencies.

This position requires successful completion of Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) training, which includes a written test and demonstration of the competency to perform physical interventions, as specified by the program and regulatory body. Additionally, staff must successfully complete all required TCI refreshers in order to maintain continued employment. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully complete Therapeutic Crisis Intervention Training: the ability to drop repeatedly to knees, twist and turn, exert oneself physically at an intense level, and support another adult's weight. Position also requires employee to transport clients utilizing an agency vehicle.
