The Patient Service Rep/Medical Assistant will perform administrative and clinical duties under the direction of the medical practitioners. Clinical duties may include taking and recording vital signs, medical histories, rooming patients and retrieving phone messages for providers. Administrative duties include making referrals, entering histories into the electronic medical records system, and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education:

High School diploma or equivalent. Graduate from a Medical Assistant program.

License/Certification :

  • Certified as a CMA from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) is preferred.
  • Must be CPR/BLS certified (current certification)
Experience and other Requirements :
  • Two or more years' experience in physician practice, medical billing or health insurance industry
  • Experience in a pediatric center preferred; Experience with children with special needs preferred
  • Fast learner and detail oriented with excellent follow through
  • Strong team player
  • Demonstrates flexibility
  • Knowledge and ability to work in accordance with clinical standards
JOB REQUIREMENTS :
  • Must be able to work well with others.
  • Always poised, courteous, pleasing personality
  • Good telephone voice and manners - works well with the public
  • Excellent computer and data entry skills including typing speed and accuracy
  • Fast learner
  • Ability to be flexible and multitask in fast paced environment

  • Ability to work with families and children with special needs
  • Excellent team player, engaged in delivering mission driven results
