Description

Schedule: CT/MRI Department. Full Time 40 hours, Evenings. Monday - Friday 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm.

The Radiology Patient Coordinator under the direction of the modality supervisor, assists in the department patient workflow while working under the guidance of a technologist. The Coordinator should be team orientated and comfortable with multi-tasking while maintaining quality, safety, and patient satisfaction.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists technologists in all areas of Radiology with patient care needs such as patient transfers, patient changing, transporting etc.
  • Assists in communication requests from providers by answering and transferring phone calls as needed.
  • Assist in Room turn-over.
  • Schedule same day add-on, ED, and inpatient requests into the schedule worklist.
  • Proficient use of the EMR for history, lab and allergy look-up and documentation.
  • Patient ambulatory, wheelchair, and stretcher transport as needed.
  • Act as a liaison between front desk in Radiology, ED, and in-patient areas to coordinate timely care of patients.
  • Reviewing exam orders to ensure all required documentation is included.
  • Consistently demonstrates effective communication, both written and verbal, with all departmental and hospital staff.
  • Takes initiative to follow up on matters as required.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned or required to ensure efficient operation of the department and quality patient care.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma required. Associates degree preferred
  • BCLS, preferred.
  • Medical Field experience preferred.
  • Staff adheres to all I.C.A.R.E. Standards
  • Must be able to multi-task and think in a proactive manner.
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs.
  • Interpersonal skills to communicate and interact effectively.
  • Work in an area that can be noisy and have temperature/ humidity variations.
  • Continuous sitting and standing
