Description

UCFS is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate APRN to join our team of pediatric healthcare providers. As an APRN in our School Based Health Center, you will be responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered care to children and adolescents.

This is an academic year position for 5 days a week (35 hrs), 45 weeks, summer hours negotiable. 3 days at Teachers Memorial Middle School, 2 days a week at Stanton Elementary.

Essential Responsibilities -

Within the APRN or PA scope of practice, provides primary health care, including preventive care services, for students in the school setting including but not limited to:

  • Conducting physical examinations, assessing patient history, and diagnosing illnesses and injuries in pediatric patients
  • Developing and implementing patient care plans, including prescribing medications and ordering diagnostic tests
  • Providing education and counseling to patients and their families on health maintenance and disease prevention
  • Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to provide optimal patient care
  • Working with school staff to promote services for students

Requirements
  • Master's degree and current Connecticut licensure as APRN or Physician Assistant
  • Prefer one to three years' experience (Ambulatory care experience preferred)
  • Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently
