After-school Tutor

Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated After-School Teacher to join our educational institution. As an After-School Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a safe and engaging learning environment for students during after-school hours. You will assist students with their homework, plan and implement educational activities, and provide guidance and support in their overall development. This is a part-time position with a focus on fostering academic success and personal growth.

Responsibilities:

 
  • Provide Homework Support: Assist students with their homework assignments, clarify concepts, and offer guidance to ensure comprehension and completion of tasks.
  • Plan and Implement Engaging Activities: Develop and execute educational activities and projects that align with students' needs and interests, fostering their intellectual curiosity and encouraging their overall development.
  • Foster a Positive Learning Environment: Establish a safe and inclusive atmosphere that promotes positive behavior and active participation. Encourage respectful and supportive interactions among students.
  • Monitor Student Progress: Observe and assess students' academic performance and behavior, tracking their progress and identifying areas for improvement. Communicate their progress to parents or guardians as needed.
  • Provide Individualized Attention: Recognize and cater to the unique learning styles and abilities of each student. Offer additional assistance or enrichment activities as required.
  • Ensure Safety and Supervision: Maintain a secure environment, adhering to safety guidelines and protocols. Supervise students during activities, transitions, and while using facilities or equipment.

Professional Development: Stay updated on current educational practices, teaching methodologies, and subject-specific knowledge. Attend workshops or training sessions to enhance teaching skills and maintain professional growth.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Prior experience working with children or adolescents in an educational setting, such as tutoring, teaching, or mentoring.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Organizational skills to effectively plan activities, manage time, and maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to create a positive and supportive learning environment that promotes student engagement and growth.
  • Knowledge of relevant safety guidelines and the ability to ensure the well-being of students in the after-school program.

Salary: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
