JOB SUMMARY
Located with the Corporate Headquarter in Houston, this role is critical in supporting key corporate tax planning initiatives arising from group's merger and acquisitions activities and tax legislation changes. The Tax Manager, Special Projects will be responsible for UK, US, and other international tax issues. They will contribute to broader Group wide international tax compliance matters and will be required to support projects including commercial tenders.
JOB SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in providing tax support on Group-wide initiatives and projects, including M&A, general corporate structuring and rationalising legal entities.
- Input into and review of bidding/contracting for new customer tender contracts mainly from a direct tax, but some indirect tax perspectives, as well as supplier contracts, across the region.
- Assist in the Group's response to new global tax initiatives, for example the implementation of the requirements under OECD BEPS Pillar 2.
- Assist Group in tax reporting, forecasting, and budgeting requirements.
- Assist Group in implementation of new ERP (ORCA) financial system
- Maintain knowledge and awareness of international tax issues, including governance items and consider how they impact the group, including enhancing the knowledge of senior management teams.
- Provide support on transfer pricing initiatives and day-to-day transfer pricing questions.
- Work to prepare and file the Group's annual CbCR Report and co-ordinate the filing of the Group's annual CbCR notifications.
- Provide input and direction to tax audits for the assigned jurisdictions.
- Preparation of quarterly and year-end tax accounting calculations for the UK and assigned jurisdictions, as required for external financial reporting purposes.
- Co-ordinate and review direct taxes payable / paid for assigned entities.
- Supervise and review submission of direct tax returns for assigned entities, prepared by external advisors or local finance managers.
- Review and submit annual corporation tax returns for UK group entities, calculate quarterly instalment payments and prepare tax accounting calculations and disclosures for annual UK statutory accounts.
- Be the key day to day contact with HMRC's CCM.
- Lead input on other UK tax compliance requirements, including annual group tax strategy disclosure, Diverted Profit Tax notifications, RDEC claims, annual UK Senior Accounting Officer process etc.
- Oversee maintenance of UK Corporate Criminal Offence reasonable procedures.
- Review quarterly UK VAT group returns

Essential
- Minimum of 6 years relevant tax experience with 2 years international tax experience
- Solid overview of transfer pricing issues
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Comfortable working with a lean internal team and hands on approach
- Strong internal and external stakeholder management at all levels
- Pro-active "can do" person who is naturally inquisitive
- Able to balance multiple priorities
- Strong analytical and accounting skills

Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline preferred
- Recognised accountancy or tax qualification
- CPA (or eligible to sit for CPA exam)
