About The Mobile Crisis Team:

The Mobile Crisis Team is a trained multidisciplinary response team that provides crisis intervention services in a variety of settings including community locations where individuals live, work, attend school, engage in services, or socialize. Mobile Crisis intervention services are designed to interrupt and ameliorate the crisis experience and include: an assessment that is culturally and linguistically competent, the development of crisis diversion plans, safety plans or relapse prevention plans, support during and after a crisis and coordination with, and referrals to, health, social, and other services and supports as needed, including peer/family support services. The goals of the Mobile Crisis Team are diversion of unnecessary hospitalizations and arrests, engagement in services, symptom reduction, and stabilization, restoring individuals to a previous level of functioning, and developing the coping mechanisms to minimize or prevent the crisis in the future. The Mobile Crisis Team strives to build strong relationships and a successful reputation in providing efficient and quality crisis services within a five-county region. We serve Cayuga, Cortland, Madison, Onondaga and Oswego counties.

Position Summary:

Under the Divisional Director's direct supervision, the Mobile Crisis Program Supervisor is responsible for the clinical oversight, supervision and management of program staff.

This is a salaried, full-time position with flexible hours Monday through Friday in Onondaga County.

Essential Functions:
  • Supervises assigned program staff in the day-to-day provision of program services and supports professional development of staff.
  • Gathers and analyzes data to track quality outcomes, monitor overall clinical performance, and identify gaps in program.
  • Reviews documentation and debriefs with each crisis responder following a crisis response.
  • Maintains strong collaborative working relationships with designated counties, stakeholders, referral sources, and community service providers.
  • Oversees and collaborates in high-risk crisis care team meetings with internal and external providers. Contributes to ensuring that individuals receive a high standard of care and has continuity of services to those served.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage scheduling to ensure crisis responders are assigned to each shift.
  • Participation in the supervisor on-call rotation, providing clinical consultation as needed.
  • Assigns crisis response/follow-up to designated crisis teams when applicable.
  • Oversees initial and ongoing training and development for program staff.
  • Competently makes decisions about the need for an emergency authorization to direct the removal of a person to a hospital or CPEP for evaluation or admission under Mental Hygiene Laws 9.41, 9.45, or 9.58
  • Consults in an expert way with first responders and community agencies. Must become familiar with unique county and law enforcement cultures.
  • Travels throughout the county to participate in stakeholder meetings, and to respond to crisis as needed.
  • Provides in-services to community partners as requested.
  • Conducts outreach to promote information about Mobile Crisis services.
  • Represents Liberty Resources at community events as needed.
  • Provides routine supervision and supports the development of an individualized professional development plan with each staff member.
  • Oversees Quality Assurance audits for designated counties.
  • Completes, as needed, clinical documentation in the electronic medical record.
  • Participates in and completes all required training.
  • Identifies Untoward Incidents; ensures proper incident notification; debriefs staff; coordinates submission of required documentation.
  • Completes all functions required by the agency-wide Quality Improvement process.
  • Knows and carries out Agency policies and procedures. Assists with developing and revising program policies and procedures as needed.
  • Attends and participates in supervisory conferences, staff meetings, and orientation sessions as required. Serves as an effective communication link between the program and the agency.
  • Performs other related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Licensed in New York State as one of the following with four (4) years post-graduate behavioral health experience:
    • LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, Licensed Creative Arts Therapist, Licensed Behavioral Analyst, Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner Physician Assistant, Licensed Psychologist or Licensed Psychoanalyst.
  • Must have relevant experience providing supervision and crisis intervention.
  • Experience providing supervision for peer advocates preferred.
  • Must be willing to participate in all required federal, state, county and agency training including Narcan administration, person-centered and trauma-informed approaches.
  • Fosters an inclusive environment and demonstrates the values of diversity, equity and belonging.
  • Demonstrates a high standard of professionalism and collaborative efforts when working with law enforcement, providers and other collaterals.
  • Must possess a valid NYS driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
  • Demonstrates strong clinical and diagnostic skills. Comfortable and familiar with crisis intervention.
  • Sensitive to cultural differences and able to incorporate that understanding into service provision.
  • Applies technical and professional knowledge to daily practice in the field.
  • Demonstrates initiative, sound judgment and understanding of clinical issues affecting families in the mental health system.
  • Able to identify strengths in others.
  • Must be able to work independently and with flexibility in days and hours of work.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and computer literacy are required.
  • Possesses ability to manage flexible hours to work effectively with individuals and families.

Salary Range: $63,000 to $67,000 / year
