As a Human Resources Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring compliance with state and federal hiring regulations
  • Supporting the hiring, interviewing, and selection process for potential new staff
  • Guaranteeing timely government compliance related to wage and hour, EEO/AA, and USCIS
  • Coordinating the upkeep of personnel files
  • Conducting New Hire Orientation and assisting with onboarding
  • Resolving inquiries related to employee benefits and incentive programs
  • Administering leave of absence policies, ensuring compliance with all government regulations
  • Presenting information about company benefit programs to new hires
  • Providing HR support across the facility
  • Managing employee relations issues promptly and confidentially
  • Collaborating with local unions to address employee concerns
  • Maintaining positive relations with union representatives and adhering to the Collective Bargaining Agreement
  • Investigating and addressing employee complaints
  • Fostering employee engagement both in office settings and on the production floor
  • Tracking and managing daily attendance
  • Issuing disciplinary notices as necessary
  • Executing daily and weekly HR operations and functions
  • Acting as a liaison between employees and management
  • Assisting with HR applications as needed
  • Minimal travel required
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of HR experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or related field preferred
  • PHR/SPHR certification preferred
  • Experience in labor relations preferred
  • Basic knowledge of employment and labor laws
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Detail-oriented and highly motivated
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Payroll experience preferred
  • Familiarity with AS 400 preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule across all shifts
