JOB SUMMARY
The CDL B Delivery Driver plays a crucial role in ensuring prompt delivery and pickup of containers to and from customer locations. Your focus will be on delivering exceptional service while maintaining safety standards and building great relationships with clients.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Safely drive and operate a commercial truck equipped with a patented lift mechanism to load and unload containers at customer sites.
  • Conduct daily pre and post-trip inspections of your commercial vehicle and lift, documenting your findings.
  • Accommodate additional delivery requests as necessary to meet customer and business needs.
  • Utilize the company-issued handheld computer for delivery verification and navigation.
  • Operate a forklift and/or an overhead crane safely and efficiently.
  • Thoroughly clean and inspect containers to ensure they are presentable for delivery.
  • Coordinate rental paperwork and payment directly with customers.
  • Maintain clear communication with the Driver Lead or Market Manager regarding any customer inquiries or issues, and prepare necessary driver notes.
  • Perform on-site repairs of containers and lifts as needed, both in the field and at the storage center.
  • Assist with storage center operations when required.
  • Keep your truck cab clean and free of debris, ensuring a professional appearance.
  • Be flexible to handle other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

MANAGEMENT & SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reports typically to the Management team. Direct supervisors may include the Market Manager or Territory Manager.
  • This position does NOT involve direct management of other employees.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Education & Experience Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid CDL Class B License required, without air brake restriction.
  • Must maintain a current and valid driver license.
  • Adherence to PODS Driver Qualification Standards is mandatory.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age due to insurance requirements.
  • Possess a valid Medical Examiner's Certificate, or the ability to obtain at least a one-year certification (DOT requirement).
  • Hands-on experience with electronic equipment and software is preferred.
  • Basic math skills are necessary to perform job duties effectively.
  • Equivalent combinations of education, training, or experience may also be considered.
  • Willingness to participate in a required 2-week New Hire Driver Training Program.
