FLSA Status:Non-Exempt; Hourly

Job Summary:

As an Industrial Technician you would be responsible for performing journey-level duties supporting the daily activities for the operations of our farm. Including designing, modifying, installing, diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electrical equipment. Will perform preventative and predictive maintenance. Perform all jobs safely, efficiently, and effectively to maintain and improve the performance of the entire operations in the areas of electrical safety and quality.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Under minimal supervision, repair and perform electrical maintenance on agriculture/industrial machinery using manufactures recommendations and company SOPs to ensure equipment is performing safely and to required specifications.
  2. Identify root cause electrical issues and performs essential repairs.
  3. Install, diagnose, and repair electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical components of industrial machinery and equipment.
  4. Plan and install power supply wiring and conduit for existing equipment.
  5. Test electrical and electronic components and circuits to locate defects.
  6. Replace defective components and wiring and adjust mechanical parts.
  7. Align, adjust, and calibrate equipment according to specifications.
  8. Maintain communication with other departments, management and associates and notify them of any problems or concerns that may restrict the efficiency of production.
  9. Responsible for maintaining tools, keeping them clean and in good working condition. Keep work area organized, clean and free to move in.
  10. Occasional use of ALL-TERRAIN forklift and standard man-lifts equipment.
  11. Works in a safe manner to protect themselves and co-workers.
  12. Identify unsafe conditions and corrects Report any safety and quality issues to their direct supervisor.
  13. Work in confined areas.
  14. Follows all compliance, food safety, and biosecurity rules, policies, and procedures. Reports any violations to a supervisor.
  15. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  1. High School Diploma or GED required.
  2. Prefer 5+ years of experience in industrial, commercial, or facility systems maintenance.
  3. Electrical experience in the feed mill or agriculture industry not required but is a plus.
  4. Reading and comprehension skills necessary to read, understand and follow SOP’s and other written instructions or work details. With basic computer and report writing skills.
  5. In-depth knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems maintenance. Knowledge of parametric and industrial control systems.
  6. Strong background using schematics, blueprints, and other technical documents.
  7. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with co-workers and management.
  8. Able to follow National Electrical Code state and local building regulations.
  9. Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and regulations.
  10. Sound work ethic, honesty, team oriented and moral character.
  11. Attention to detail and ability to follow work assignments.
  12. Experience with safety/equipment such as ARC Flash, LOTO, harnesses, lanyards, hoists, and PPE a plus.
  13. Ability to work overtime, weekends and holiday hours as required based on the production demand.
  14. Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull 75+lbs.
  15. Ability to work in various climate conditions including extreme heat and cold environments. Walking, climbing (ladders and stairs), standing, and sitting for long periods of time, heights up to 175’, and able to work in confined spaces.
