This is a permanent year-round position. Cook Memorial Public Library District serves 61,000 residents from two full-service locations: Aspen Drive Library at 701 Aspen Drive, Vernon Hills, IL, and Cook Park Library at 413 N Milwaukee Avenue, Libertyville, IL. Hours:

Average of approximately 15.5 hours a week, including a variety of part-time day and evening shifts, and monthly weekend rotations. Must be willing to fill in additional hours as needed.

• Thursday 3 p.m. - 9 p.m.

• Friday 2 p.m. - 6 p.m.

• 4-week rotation:

o Saturday 8:45 a.m. - 5 p.m.

o Sunday 12:30 p.m. -5 p.m. (Premium Pay)
Duties & Responsibilities:

• Greets patrons and directs them to appropriate areas of the library

• Answers incoming telephone calls and directs calls to appropriate extensions

• Registers patrons for library programs and trips

• Handles miscellaneous library correspondence, data entry, and other tasks as needed
Requirements:

• Strong people skills

• Customer service and office experience preferred

• Detail-oriented, with good organizational skills

• Computer experience including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

• Reliable, flexible and willing to fill in additional hours when necessary

• High school diploma or GED

Salary & Benefits:

$16.00per hour, 457 savings plan, paid sick leave and holidays, premium pay on Sundays. Cost of living and merit increases.
