Position Purpose:
Objective/Scope
Electrical Engineers are responsible for the design, manufacturability, testing and compliance of the electronics content of AvaSure products. They are engaged in the product from the requirements definition, initial concept development, design, production release, start of production and during product life. The work products of the Electronical Engineers are product requirements (functional, cost, etc), design (Bill of Material, Schematic, PCB Design), and performance testing (Engineering Reports, Design Validation Plan and Report, Compliance Lab Test reports). The Electrical Engineer determines product risk through the corporate risk analysis matrix and through design failure effects analysis (DFMEA). Electrical Engineers participate on the design team, and they plan and report their progress in the Agile project management system.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree is required.
- 4 years of electrical engineering experience required.
- Schematic Creation. New designs, peer-reviewed.
- Layout Design.
- Wiring Design.
- Relevant portion of DVP&Rs completed with all non-conformances addressed.
- Completes PSPICE / MATLAB simulations used to justify designs when applicable.
- Troubleshooting - participates in a successful 8D exercise for an electronics issue.
- Demonstrates design for electronics manufacturability issue identification and resolution.
- Able to perform PCB fabrication and rework tasks.
- Able to compile PCB BOM costs at an entry level.
- Demonstrates Agile backlog task estimation and time tracking with low supervision.
- Completion of tasks demonstrated by phase ending.
- Clear written communication demonstrated through peer reviewed reports, designs, and technical writing.
- Complete DFMEA risk analysis, validated through peer review of documentation.
- Clear verbal communication demonstrated through engineering team participation.
- Compliance to company process demonstrated through phase reviews and audits.
- Collaboration with multiple departments to achieve company goals (Support, Marketing, Sales)
- Able to consistently demonstrate positive teamwork and attitude through 360-feedback from department.

- This role is hybrid, 2-3 days onsite in Belmont, MI (north of Grand Rapids, MI).
