Job Description:

Acclaim is seeking a Full-Time Advanced Practice Provider to join our Pulmonary team. The Department of Internal Medicine provides specialty services across the continuum of care at JPS. We currently have over 100 providers who work in a variety of different locations including the Main Hospital, Ambulatory Surgery Center, and our Community Medicine Clinics.

The Department of Internal Medicine utilizes a robust APP onboarding program, inclusive of a 6-8 week training phase in which APPs are able to safely learn and drill the fundamentals of patient care, before their official patient templates open. Furthermore, this onboarding is followed by a thoughtful and well-calibrated template ramp up, such that APPs are given the time to learn and grown appropriately in their new role.

Job Summary:

  • 5 days inpatient service consisting of consultation, follow up, and patient education of complex airway and pleural disease
  • Occasional outpatient clinic coverage as needed
  • Work with Interventional Pulmonologist and Care Coordinator as needed to support the Interventional Pulmonary Program. Including but not limited to patient consenting, pre/post procedure follow up and care coordination
  • Large existing group, growing practice of physicians and APPs
  • EPIC EMR
  • Mmodal dictation with possible AI enabled scribe in near future

Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience:Master's degree in nursing from an accredited school of nursing OR Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program
1 Year Pulmonary or ICU experience preferred

Required Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:Must have current Texas Physician Assistant license or Texas APRN license (FNP or AGPCNP)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Must be comfortable working in a large public/county facility
Must be able to demonstrate working knowledge in area assigned, and competency in assessment techniques, diagnosis and treatment processes that apply to the assigned medical specialty area
Must have good interpersonal, verbal and oral communication skills
Must be self-directed and take initiative to develop and participate in community activities and medical outreach
Must be able to demonstrate patient centered/patient valued behavior
