About the Position
DEMI Healthcare Partners | Southern Wisconsin Emergency Associates (SWEA) is seeking Clinical Advanced Practice Providers (Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants) to join our established emergency medicine and urgent care team. In this role, you will be a vital member of our healthcare teams, providing exceptional care to our patients. While prior experience is advantageous, we are open to training enthusiastic new graduates.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and manage patients with varying levels of acuity
- Conduct comprehensive patient care, including diagnosis, treatment, and consultations
- Operate autonomously and/or collaboratively within a treatment team
- Analyze medical test results, including EKGs, X-rays, and laboratory tests
- Execute a diverse range of bedside clinical procedures, such as:
- Different types of blocks (digital, dental)
- Nail procedures (trephination, removal)
- Wound management (suturing, stapling, utilizing Dermabond)
- Foreign body extraction (from skin and eyes)
- Fracture splinting
- Ocular procedures (fluorescein exams, irrigation, pH testing)
- Incision and drainage
- Speculum examinations (vaginal)
- STD testing and counseling
- Digital examinations (vaginal and/or rectal)
- Tick extraction
Qualifications
- Licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- Experience in Emergency Medicine: 1 year (preferred)
- Experience in Internal Medicine: 1 year (preferred)
- Educational background - MSN, DNP, or post-master certificate with a nurse practitioner specialization
- Valid Wisconsin Medical License - RN & APN/PA in Medicine
- Active RN License
- Physician Assistant License
- Current DEA license or ability to apply prior to or upon hire
- Certifications: BLS & Advanced Life Support Certifications, if applicable to practice area (ACLS & PALS)
