Washington, United States AEI Full time
Overview

The American Enterprise Institute (AEI) coalitions team helps AEI scholars connect their research with audiences inside and outside Washington, DC. We focus on getting scholarly work from the website to the community. Interns must have a startup mentality and an ability to identify new ways to add value across the organization. The most successful interns will be interested in and familiar with AEI scholars' work, exhibit strong writing and organizational skills, and be curious about nonprofit management and public relations.

Duties will include facilitating conferences and events for AEI's contacts in DC and across the country, writing weekly communications for core AEI constituencies, identifying opportunities to develop new partnerships with organizations around the United States, completing data entry in Salesforce, and assisting with other short- and long-term projects. Projects can include assisting with planning and executing a regional summit, maintaining contact records, and researching ways to add value to coalitions programming. The coalitions interns must be available to complete the internship in person.

There will be two start dates for the fall program: September 10 and September 24. While the AEI Internship Program and all related programming will take place in-person in Washington, DC this summer, virtual interns may be accepted on a case by case basis. Please include your prefered start date and note your in-person/virtual preference in your cover letter.

About AEI Internships

AEI internships offer a unique opportunity for undergraduates, graduate students, and recent graduates to gain experience in research, writing, business, and communications at one of the nation's leading think tanks. Competitive candidates will generally have a 3.4 GPA or higher from a top-ranking college or university. The AEI internship program runs 12 weeks. Please see the internship program home page for updates about the program.
