In this role, you will play a pivotal part in formulating and executing policies and protocols aimed at safeguarding the well-being of all staff across our corporate and production sites. Ensuring adherence to pertinent environmental and safety legislation is a key component of the role. The EHS Manager holds a crucial position in cultivating a secure workplace for our employees.

Responsibilities: • Create and instill a safety culture at all locations • Implement safety policies and procedures to ensure the safety of employees and prevent exposure to environmental hazards in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations • Monitor all EHS-related laws and regulations that are applicable to the Company and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance therewith • Develop training programs/materials and provide training to employees to ensure awareness of and compliance with required EHS policies, procedures, and training requirements • Must be able to deliver in-person and remote training as needed • Perform safety audits, monitoring, and internal control activities to ensure compliance with the Company’s EHS-related policies and procedures • Direct the work of employees designated as worksite-specific EHS representatives • Track near misses, recordables, and trends. Implement corrective actions to eliminate areas of concern • Develop procedures specific to incident response, and lead all incident response efforts • Investigate accidents and incidents, developing corrective action plans • Ensure all health and safety equipment such as defibrillators, first aid kits, and fire extinguishers are functioning effectively and are properly maintained • Travel to all Company locations to perform inspections, provide training, and respond to incidents as needed (current locations are in Kansas, Missouri, and Texas) • Serve as the main point of contact for all safety and environmental regulatory agencies • Maintain records of EHS-related activities, including records specific to OSHA compliance efforts, training certifications, and equipment/worksite inspections

Qualifications: • 5 years of experience leading an EHS program within the manufacturing industry • Associate degree. Bachelor’s Degree in a Safety Science, Safety Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or a related discipline preferred • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Thorough knowledge of OSHA and DOT compliance requirements • OSHA 501 Outreach Training Program Certification • CPR and First Aid Certifications • Familiar with MOC, PSSR, JHA, OSHA 300 reporting • Preferred Certified Safety Professional • Experience in railroad Blue Safety Flag training • Advanced user-level experience with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and be able to travel up to 60% to various worksites within the U.S. by automobile and/or air travel • Standing and sitting for prolonged periods of time within an office and manufacturing setting • Must be able to lift and transport health and safety-related equipment (e.g., defibrillators, fire extinguishers, first aid kits • Must be able to stand, walk, climb stairs, bend, and kneel during the performance of inspections which may last for extended periods of time • Must be able to work in confined and/or elevated spaces
