The Professional Division of Spherion Mid-Ohio is partnered with an established accounting firm in Richland County. We are seeking a Senior Accountant with a focus on tax to join their team Salary range of $80K to $120K is being offered based on background and experience.

Position Overview - The Senior Accountant will be essential in managing and executing accounting functions, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and offering strategic financial guidance. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in public accounting, a strong understanding of tax regulations, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review complex tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts.
  • Conduct tax research and planning to minimize tax liabilities and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
  • Manage and oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Prepare financial statements in accordance with GAAP and provide detailed financial analysis and reporting.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their financial needs and provide strategic advice and solutions.
  • Lead and mentor junior accountants, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
  • Assist with audits and coordinate with external auditors to ensure timely and accurate audit processes.
  • Stay updated on changes in tax laws and accounting standards and communicate implications to clients and staff.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.
Skills & Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA certification is preferred but not required.
  • A minimum of 8-10 years of public accounting experience, with a focus on tax and advisory services.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations and GAAP.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven track record of managing client relationships and delivering exceptional service.
  • Strong technical knowledge of tax regulations, GAAP, and financial reporting standards.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge of Creative Solutions software is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
