Summary

The Accounting Associate computes, classifies, records, and verifies numerical data for use in maintaining accounting records by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Account Associate Heavy accounts payable duties. Processes accounting and compliance mail/email/filing. Posts and deposits receipts - customer payments and fees/commissions from carriers/partners - electronic funds, credit cards, checks. Identifies and obtains/files statements containing details necessary for processing direct bill commissions received from various companies and assists with posting and/or tasking the statements to internal and external parties with related responsibilities. Reconciles cash/bank and other general ledger accounts with various ledgers and supporting documents and performs other month-end closing responsibilities. Assists employees, vendors, and/or customers by answering questions related to accounts, procedures, and services. Assists Account Managers with reconciliations of customer account balances. Provides assistance for administration of records including contracts, licenses, correspondence and accounting statements, invoices and records. Completes assignments of and assistance with tasks within the role-based management system for both accounting and administrative roles. Performs other related duties and tasks as necessary or as assigned.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent. Two years of related experireince and/or training preferred. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Self-motivated and able to handle multiple tasks with minimal guidance in order to meet deadlines. Good oral and written communication skills to articulate key information. Initiative and willingness to take on additional responsibilities. High emphasis on teamwork, collaboration, data analysis, and process innovation. Self-starter and work with direction and taking ownership of areas of responsibility. Detail-oriented.
