The Business Development Analyst is responsible for the provision of business analysis of E&P acquisition, divestment and new business opportunities primarily in the USA.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Business Development Analyst will be responsible for and/or contribute to:
  • Monitoring & analysis of industry activity and trends, companies and assets, in order to pro-actively identify/originate business development opportunities in line with E&P Strategy and company objectives.
  • Participate in projects established to evaluate E&P acquisition opportunities and perform evaluation analysis.
  • Will work closely with multi-disciplinary teams facilitating coordination with all departments involved (Business Unit, Technical Center, accounting/fiscal, legal services, PyO, administration, etc.).
  • Support/Coordinate asset divestments, analysis of buyers universe, precedent transaction metrics, marketing process, data room management, support preparation of sales materials including marketing materials, management presentations, coordinate Q&A process, evaluation of offers.
  • Preparation and update of A&D project plans as required.
  • Facilitate, in collaboration with planning colleagues, development of fit for purpose economic model / evaluation to determine prospectivity of specific opportunities.
  • Elaboration of any required internal report or analysis focused on the status of any ongoing activity as well as developing those materials to be used in the decision-making process.
  • Participate in drafting, analyzing, negotiating and finalizing Sales and Purchase Agreements, Petroleum Agreements, JOA's, AMI's, JBA's, CA's and other commercial agreements).
Required Qualifications:
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Geoscience, Economics or Finance. MBA or other Master's degree a plus.
  • At least 3 plus years of professional experience in oil and gas industry with primary focus on economic evaluation or other similar commercial functions.
  • Adequate exposure to other technical areas within the industry in support of M&A, Planning, Exploration or marketing are also beneficial.
  • Experience deploying industry standard tools for unconventional asset evaluation, including Aries, PHD Win, Enersight or other similar software is a plus.
