We are seeking a Senior Regulatory Permitting Specialist with expertise in aquatic resource permitting to join the team at a natural resources focused consulting firm. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in navigating complex regulatory frameworks, particularly related to wetlands, waterways, and aquatic habitats in the Bay Area and surrounding regions. Responsibilities: Lead and manage the aquatic resource permitting process for a variety of projects, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations of project impacts on aquatic ecosystems, including wetlands, streams, and sensitive habitats. Develop and implement strategies to minimize environmental impacts and secure necessary permits and approvals. Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams, clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to facilitate project approvals and compliance. Provide expert guidance on regulatory requirements and best practices related to aquatic resources. Stay abreast of evolving environmental regulations and policies affecting aquatic resources and integrate new requirements into project planning and execution. Prepare and review permit applications, environmental impact assessments, mitigation plans, and related technical documents. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology, or a related field; Master's degree preferred. Minimum of 7 years of experience in regulatory permitting and environmental compliance, with a focus on aquatic resources. In-depth knowledge of federal (e.g., Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act) and California state environmental regulations. Proven track record of successfully managing complex permitting projects, particularly in the San Francisco Bay Area. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience in technical report writing and presenting to diverse audiences. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Application Process:
