Process Control Engineer

supports manufacturing in troubleshooting, long-range planning, day-to-day operations, process control optimization and continuous improvements. Accountabilities Provide technical support to the Manufacturing Department to optimize performance, increase production efficiency, improve quality, and increase equipment reliability. Lead E&I technicians to utilize industry standards in troubleshooting, process improvement and training/certification programs. Write and troubleshoot ladder logic programming. Create and use processes for analysis of production and maintenance data to identify problems with processes, equipment, tooling, and personnel. Use technical skills and formal methods to identify root causes and implement solutions, including design changes. Coordinate communications and efforts with internal and external resources to troubleshoot equipment and to execute repairs, PM’s, and upgrades to equipment and tooling. Participate in planning meetings with Maintenance. Support efforts of Continuous Improvement group to develop departmental procedures and training programs. Develop specific technical procedures when necessary. Participate in Continuous Improvement efforts and teams. Support development and implementation of capital improvements, and lead implementation when All salaried personnel are responsible to ensure that they have the needed competencies to apply the operating procedures so that environmental controls are adequately implemented. Knowledge and application of the current version of the National Electrical Code (NEC). Knowledge of the standards that apply to instrumentation and controls (ISA). Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field Knowledge and application of company engineering design and CAD drafting standards. Programming experience with Programmable Logic controller (PLC), Human Machine Interface (HMI), and/or Distributed Control System (DCS) equipment: Rockwell (AB) PLC and Ladder Logic Knowledge of the Variable Frequency Drives and troubleshooting concepts. Knowledge of the instrumentation and loop tuning. Additional training and experience would be a plus in the following: Papermaking Robotic and AGV/LGV automated material handling systems Honeywell DCS, Experion, and Measurex (Da Vinci) systems Industrial networking protocols Ethernet IP, Profibus, DeviceNet, ect. Well water treatment Recycled fiber Boiler operations Working knowledge of CAD software, either AutoCAD, Microstation or both. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and OutlookAbility to demonstrate and communicate expert-level understanding of both business process execution and computer systems organization. Ability to stay educated on the latest computer and software technologies, along with multiple specialty vendor product offerings Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally. Must have a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential information and situations.
