Senior Sous Chef

- The New York Athletic Clubs is seeking a highly motivated Sous Chef. The Sous Chef will be responsible for overseeing the food preparation in the kitchen. Works in conjunction with the Executive Chef and assist with any tasks as directed.
Essential Functions:
•Prepare food to meet the specification of members/guests in a timely manner.
•Assist with menu planning, and produce high quality plates, including both design and taste.
•Offer suggestions and creative ideas that can improve upon the kitchen's performance.
•Manage the kitchen inventory and ensuring supplies are fresh and of high quality.
•Reports all unsafe working conditions, operational needs and equipment to the Executive Chef or management.
•Ensure that the kitchen operation procedures and hygiene meet food safety standards and regulations.
•Maintain high standards of quality and appearance for all food prepared and served.
•Properly store all food, which must be covered, dated, and rotated daily to ensure proper portion control and quality.
•Maintain workstation and kitchen equipment clean, organized, and sanitized.
•Maintains neat professional appearance and always observes personal cleanliness rules.
•Schedule staff shifts.
•Train new employees.
•The ability to work hands on.
•Perform other related duties, task, and responsibilities as required or apparent.
Qualifications and Experience:
•Basic knowledge of the Culinary Arts.
•Experience in a high-volume fine dining restaurant or private club.
•High-energy, outgoing personality with strong professional interpersonal skills.
•Diplomatic team player, able to foster relationships with team members.
•Possesses a passion for exceeding member expectations and a commitment to excellence that results in providing the highest quality member and guest experience.
•Strong verbal skills and able to read English.

Requirements:
