Job Summary:

The Nondestructive Evaluation Engineering (NDE) group is looking for a highly motivated engineer to support NDE development and implementation activities on Commercial and Military engines. The position requires technical knowledge of engine design and operations, good engineering judgement, good organizational skills and strong interpersonal communication skills with an interest in developing a technical understanding of NDE methods and the role NDE plays in fleet safety and management.

The NDE Project Engineer is expected to work cohesively with the NDE technical experts in developing and communicating schedule and progress thru participation in the development process. The NDE project engineering role is a focused resource for the NDE Engineering team in support of coordination with Component Integrated Product Team (CIPT) and program teams in reporting on safety critical development tasks. The effort will require working with multiple CIPT's to ensure progress is clearly understood and being communicated consistently by the NDE Engineering Team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Working in concert with the development team, will support planning and preparation of presentation materials of progress on critical safety initiatives
  • Develop and maintain a schedule used in report of status to CIPT/program and other forums as required
  • Working with International Traffic and Arms Regulations (ITAR) hardware; therefore there could be 10% travel including domestic and international military bases
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in Engineering or 3+ years with an Advanced Degree
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiar with NDE role in overall fleet management
  • Excellent project and organization skills
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in working across functions, organizations and all levels of management

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee's personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
