Reporting directly to the VP Sales and Marketing, the Sales Manager position is a unique opportunity for a person who wants to invest and grow in a highly growth-oriented organization and in a very stimulating environment where the agility of a small enterprise coexists with the resources of a large organization.

The company is a manufacturer of specialized electrical wires and cables with a global presence, and it is looking to recruit a Sales Manager for its industrial & OEM wire and cable portfolio. The Sales Manager will be responsible for driving initial sales in targeted vertical markets, predominantly focusing on OEM accounts. However, the Sales Manager will also be responsible for understanding and influencing the various players in each target market ecosystem (e.g.: end-user, engineering, procurement & consulting firm, OEM, contract manufacturer, distribution channel).

Position is remote anywhere in the US/Canada.

Main Responsibilities

Develop and execute short-term and long-term vertical market penetration strategies and sales objectives along VP Sales and Marketing. Understand each target vertical market, its main applications, its drivers, the influencers, the decision makers to capture the voice of the customer. Analyze the current market position, i.e., strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. Identify technology and product gaps. Implement strategies to improve market positioning and leadership. Improve product marketability and profitability by researching, identifying, and capitalizing on market opportunities. Develop and deploy key account strategies, supported by market research and individual account growth plans. Maintain a working knowledge and understanding of industry specifications. Attend industry trade shows and conferences as required.

Education And Experience Preferred

Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree, preferably in Engineering. A minimum of ten years of business-to-business sales experience is required, with at least 5 years of strategic sales experience. Relevant experience in the wire and cable industry is an asset.

Knowledge And Skills Preferred

Dynamic, passionate and performance driven. Highly motivated and well organized to drive growth and new opportunities. Individual must be an “analytical thinker” and have the ability to develop long term plans that incorporate “80/20” focused direction. Differentiation, Innovation, Engineered Solutions and Value Proposition must be at the core of this. Excellent oral and written communication skills required. Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills required. Excellent time management skills. Ability to use technology and analysis tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, web, databases) Executive presence to influence senior decision makers. Ready to travel (minimum of 50% of the time) in the US and in Canada.
