Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Director of Special Projects to lead our specialized construction division. The Construction Director of Special Projects will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and successful delivery of unique and high-profile construction projects. This role requires strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and a comprehensive understanding of construction processes and industry standards.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning and Direction:
Develop and implement strategic plans for the specialized construction division, aligning with company goals and objectives.
Identify market trends, emerging opportunities, and potential risks to inform divisional strategies.
Provide leadership and direction to project teams, ensuring alignment with divisional goals and objectives.
Project Management and Execution:
Oversee the planning, execution, and successful delivery of special projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and other team members to develop project plans, schedules, and budgets.
Monitor project progress and performance, identifying potential risks and issues and implementing corrective actions as needed.
Client Relationship Management:
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on special projects, maintaining strong relationships and addressing their needs and concerns throughout the project lifecycle.
Manage client expectations and ensure customer satisfaction by delivering projects that meet or exceed expectations.
Provide regular project updates and communications to clients, keeping them informed of project progress and milestones.
Resource Allocation and Management:
Allocate resources effectively, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to support special projects.
Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment to project sites.
Optimize resource utilization to maximize project efficiency and profitability.
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
Implement quality control measures to ensure that special projects meet industry standards, regulatory requirements, and project specifications.
Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and address any quality issues or deficiencies.
Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
Financial Management:
Develop and manage project budgets and forecasts for special projects, monitoring expenses and profitability.
Identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue enhancement, implementing strategies to maximize project profitability.
Ensure accurate and timely invoicing and billing, resolving any discrepancies or issues as needed.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction management, with a focus on commercial projects.
Strong leadership abilities and executive presence, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
In-depth knowledge of construction processes, best practices, and industry trends.
Proficiency in project management software and tools.
PMP or similar certification is a plus.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
