JOB SUMMARY:

This meticulous and motivated Quality Engineer ensures the quality of our products and processes, in production and office environments, through the application of systematic problem-solving techniques, utilizing data and data analytics to ensure verifiable results. This individual ensures maintaining and improving company standards, driving continuous improvement initiatives in all areas of the company, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver Gold Standard results to our customers.

Improve company quality performance through training, education, coaching throughout the company to improve quality performance, problem-solving, Continuous Process Improvements (CPI), LEAN, etc.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. Hold functional departments accountable for meeting agreed-upon quality metrics, and for continuous improvement measures to meet those metrics
  2. Provide support, problem solving, and root cause analysis through 8-D and other problem-solving techniques.
  3. Understand QC methods, Understand procedures, work instructions, manufacturing techniques, products and product flow.
  4. Design and implement methods for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection
  5. Promote and execute quality standards, inspection processes, test methodology, quality plans, documents and reports.
  6. Develop ISO standards and execute quality audits
  7. Facilitate quality meetings, visualization exercises (using tools like system view mapping, etc.) to drive corrective actions to permanent resolution.
  8. Responsible for Quality management systems
  9. Facilitate the simplification, standardization and updating of processes, procedures, and work instructions to ensure quality conformance.
  10. Audit and monitor quality requirements, collect and analyze quality data, recommend corrective actions based on data.
  11. Understanding of manufactured parts, assembly and testing of mechanical products
  12. Coordinate daily tasks with other cross-functional team members.
  13. Facilitate quality meetings with cross-functional team members, document and track action items until completion and verification of effectiveness.
  14. Cover team capacity shortages when peaks arise, or members are absent.
  15. Hold employees accountable for 6S and all other policies.
  16. Initiate and own continuous improvement events: LEAN, standardization, to simplify and improve quality and efficiency.
  17. Interpret technical drawings and specification and detect variances.
  18. Apply GD&T
  19. Familiar with methods of measurement (CMM, gauges, hand tools, mics, calipers, etc...)
  20. Perform housekeeping duties as needed.
  21. Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager
  22. Observes company policies related to dress, appearance, attendance, employment, ect..
Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  1. BA: quality engineer, mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineer, electrical engineer
  2. Mechanical and/or electronics experience (as in High School Technology Center) is a plus, but not required.
  3. Strong interest in quality, quality procedures, and processes
