San Jose, United States Jobs for Humanity Full time
Company Description

The Center for Employment Opportunities (CEO) provides vital employment services to individuals recently released from incarceration. Each year, 8,000-9,000 people across the United States participate in CEO programs, transitioning into employment that supports themselves, their families, and their communities.

Initially launched as a demonstration project by the Vera Institute of Justice in the 1970s to address employment barriers faced by the formerly incarcerated in New York City, CEO has since evolved into the nation's leading reentry employment organization. Since 1996, over 30,000 formerly incarcerated individuals have secured full-time employment through CEO.

Job Description

The Opportunity

CEO is looking to hire a Reentry Employment Specialist for our local office, a pivotal role in assisting individuals transitioning from incarceration to develop the skills and confidence needed for stable and productive lives.

Reentry Employment Specialists broaden the spectrum of employment opportunities for our participants by aligning their interests, experiences, and ambitions with suitable job placements. They also play a key role in identifying and fostering relationships with potential employers.

The most fulfilling part of being a Reentry Employment Specialist is the satisfaction derived from making the perfect match between participant and employer. Your expertise and insights contribute to immediate successful placements and foster long-term workforce engagement, significantly reducing recidivism rates.

As part of our mission, we strongly encourage individuals with lived experience of incarceration or involvement in the justice system to apply for this role.
